After graduating from The University of Sydney, I launched head first into a busy new graduate job at a huge specialist, emergency and general practice hospital. After working as a general practice vet at a few clinics around Sydney, I gradually discovered that my need to organise everything, look after everyone and constant deep reflections of "how could we do this better?" meant I was destined to manage people. With two very young kids I decided I wasn't tired or stressed enough, so took up a role as manager of a small animal vet out west and soon enough was managing a clinic closer to home. The pull of ownership and being part of the local small business community was strong so we decided as a family to start our very own vet hospital.
I love my patients and I love getting to know their owners. I believe that a good vet-client relationship is built on trust and if we have that we can give your pet the very best of care. I also believe that if you build a good team your business will flourish, so I invest a lot of time and energy into ensuring my staff are nurtured and enjoy their jobs. I find pet dentistry incredibly satisfying and love a complicated case. I'm constantly exploring new treatments or the latest medication available. Most importantly I love puppies & kittens. You never get sick of puppies & kittens!
Outside of work I am the proud mum of two sons and wife to a long-suffering husband. I have an overly-enthusiastic golden retriever called Banjo, whom many of you may have been "hugged" by at Thornleigh Dog Park. We are a family of campers and 4WDers so holidays are spent getting muddy and exploring Australia.

One of your favourites is back!
I'm a local girl who, after delving into Emergency and Critical Care, is back at Parkes Street Vet.
I graduated from Sydney University in 2010 and have been working in the local area ever since. I love caring for all animals and it is the human/animal bond as well as working in partnership with our beautiful owners that brings me joy. I have a special interest in dermatology and all aspects of preventative medicine.
I share my home with the mischievous King Charles Cavalier called Jasper, diva feline matriarch, Patricia and the new recruit – the tuxedo cutie called Boots. As well as four chooks; Sizzles, Collie, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee (or the tweedles for short).

I am the receptionist at Parkes Street Vet which means I keep Prue organised and love a headset. I met Dr Prue a few years ago and after plying her with baked goods she eventually hired me. When I heard Prue was going out on her own and opening a new hospital I couldn't wait to join her.
I'm a Hornsby local and the director of Cat Rescue 901. This means I'm juggling up to 90 foster cats at any one time and have a diploma in Crazy Cat Lady. From time to time I've been known to smuggle cat rescues into the clinic, feigning innocence when asked where they came from.
In one of my many previous careers I was a cake decorator and I love a good craft project. You might even spot some of my pet-inspired earrings in the Parkes Street reception (or available here).

I joined the Parkes Street team in March 2025 and from the moment I walked into the clinic I knew I wanted to work here. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Psychology I decided academia wasn’t for me and pivoted to the animal industry. I’ve worked as a student/volunteer zookeeper, as an animal attendant in a busy emergency clinic, and finally as a vet nurse in both large and small GP clinics.
I have a keen interest in animal behaviour and how it interacts with medical conditions, such as how pain from dental disease can impact aggression. As mum to the world’s most neurotic cat (Cinnamon, pictured above), I also am very passionate about making our patients’ experience with us as pleasant as possible and I have a special place in my heart for the highly anxious pets that come to visit us.
Outside of work I enjoy anything creative (writing, singing, ukulele) and most nights you can find me with a cross stitch in hand, enjoying something sci-fi or fantasy flavoured.

I grew up riding horses and spent a lot of time on farms in rural NSW, where my love for animals quickly took root. It was always clear to me that working with animals was where I was meant to be.
Life at home is full of energy — I share it with an ex-working Border Collie who keeps me on my toes with scent work and agility training, a laid-back Dashalier, an extremely sassy rescue cat, and a beautiful baby (human) boy who’s already growing up surrounded by animals.
I’ve previously had the opportunity to work alongside Prue and was excited to join the supportive and passionate team at Parkes Street Vet.

Growing up I was always surrounded by all types of animals, they have made me who I am today. I have two horses, two choccy labs, a deer, chickens, a macaw, Tigger my tabby cat, and my newest addition Batman, my little rescue kitten.
I have been in the veterinary industry since 2021, volunteering and working as a kennel hand. I continued my studies during that time and became a fully qualified vet nurse at the end of 2024. I couldn’t see myself doing anything different!
From nail trims to anesthetics, I am blessed to have the privilege of being your pet’s voice and helping them in any way I can - even if it’s just an extra cuddle when they need it most.

I am a mum of two young boys, two birds and four rescue cats (which I think makes me a certified, card-carrying crazy cat lady (or CCL), and proud of it!)
I started my working life in childcare but a casual conversation with Dr Prue during a visit to the vet for my late cattledog, Layla, started me down the path of veterinary nursing. As a CCL I naturally have a passion for feline medicine and cat rescue, I'm also fear-free qualified and am devoted to delivering low anxiety vet visits for our more nervous patients.
As a Westleigh local its possible many of you already know me and have seen me at the school gate or roaming the sidelines of various soccer fields around the area. I love being able to live and work locally and look forward to ensuring the Parkes Street clinic becomes a part of our thiving local community.

I have been a client of Dr Prue’s for years with my cattle dog Belle so when I embarked on my vet nurse journey i jumped at the chance to continue work placement with Parkes Street Vet. In no time at all I was offered a junior nursing position and jumped at the chance to join the team.
I love feeling useful and working hard. I plan to use my vet nursing skills to develop my career in the reptile world. I can see a future involving croc-hunter style khakis and the great outdoors.
I have a pet diamond python called Moriarty along with Belle and live locally.

Hi, I’m Becky and you’ll usually find me at reception.
I’m a mum to three grown-up children, a proud cat owner to three felines, and the lucky human of a rescue cattle dog who keeps life interesting (and energetic!).
After many years of nursing humans as a midwife, I decided it was time for a new challenge - and a role that comes with a few more furry cuddles. It’s wonderful to be able to blend my medical background with my love of animals, and I truly enjoy being part of such a caring team.
I look forward to greeting you and helping you and your pets feel safe and welcome in this wonderful clinic.

You've just found the Parkes Street student. I'm currently completing my studies in Animal and Veterinary Bioscience at Sydney University.
I am the proud owner of many, many pets including a pair of scruffy dogs and fish, lots of fish!
I've always loved a good book and am a passionate freediver with a general love of the ocean (and fish). I also enjoy sports and music - Ocean Alley, Frank Ocean & Fish-er.

Firstly, it’s important to know that I’m not a vet! In fact I have very few abilities when it comes to animal care beyond taking Banjo for the occasional walk and feeding him my toast corners every morning.
Professionally I’m a marketer and have spent my career working in sport and sponsorship however those skills are pretty useless in this new venture. I’m therefore busy reskilling as a web-developer, graphic designer and business administrator.
Amongst all of the Parkes Street team I'm probably the least likely to be found in the clinic, but if I am there, it'll probably be to wrangle the mascot or restock the bar fridge.

My name is Banjo and I am Parkes Street Vet’s #1 VIP client. This may only be because I live with the owners so they can’t get away from me. Mum & Dad got me during COVID with Mum having grand plans to take me to community talks to help her educate the small hoomans on dog safety. This has yet to happen and may have something to do with Mum always calling me “full on” and “crazy.” Hopefully soon I calm down enough to go on some adventures with her because I LOVE meeting new people and the small hoomans are my favourites because they give endless belly scratches.
My favourite past times are bush walks (where I spend 95% of the time lying in puddles or rolling in the dirtiest patch), lounge room zoomies, accompanying the hoomans to the bathroom (it’s important I supervise everything they do) or hiding from the scary dog brush.
